AKO Constant Wattage Heating Cable (Silicon Insulation)

Constant Wattage Heating Cable suitable for avoiding ice in pipes and metal surfaces or for heating not exceeding 55ºC on them.

It can be cut to size. They are commonly used in industrial or commercial refrigeration installations to avoid ice in the drain pipes, condensation on the surface, and in applications on metal surfaces not exceeding 55ºC.

They are generally used in industrial or commercial refrigeration installations for frost protection in drainage pipes, to avoid surface condensation, etc.
These heating cables are not provided with a metal braiding protection for its grounding, which means that installation is subject to the existence of suitable protections against indirect contact to ensure compliance with local existing electrical codes and practices.

Features:
AKO parallel heating cables have a constant wattage power output per linear meter even when they are cut to length on site. They feature a heating wire which is coiled to form a spiral round the two insulated conductors that it contacts, alternately, at given regular interval points. Internally, the cable forms a system of many resistors, in parallel, which are powered by the two conductors through the contact points.

This makes it possible to cut the cable at the required length on site.
